KBN WORLD FEDERATION CHAMPIONSHIP IN ISTANBUL

NEWS / NEZİR KARAYÜN / NEWS AGENCY (YHA) Istanbul Beylikdüzü Municipality and KBN Federation jointly hosted the “International Close Combat Arts Festival”. The event, which took place at Beylikdüzü Öğretmen Fedai Altun Indoor Sports Facility, was attended by 13 countries and nearly 150 athletes from all over the world. Athletes sweated to win prizes in exciting competitions that lasted throughout the day. The festival drew attention with its international participants and enthusiastic atmosphere.

“AWARDS FOUND THEIR WINNERS”

At the award ceremony held at the end of the festival, cups and medals were presented to successful athletes. Names such as Beylikdüzü Deputy Mayor Emel Turan, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Serkan Bayram, and KBN President Dr. Kambiz Babaei were present at the event. Beylikdüzü Municipality Council Members Ali Rıza Der and Özge İlgüz also attended and supported the event.

“SPORTS AND FRIENDSHIP EMPHASIS”

Beylikdüzü Deputy Mayor Emel Turan touched upon the unifying power of sports and the importance of such international events in her speech at the opening of the festival. Turan said, “We are happy to host such a beautiful organization in our district. Based on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s principle of ‘I like athletes who are intelligent, agile and also moral’, we offer our youth various sports opportunities. We are taking stronger steps towards the future with such organizations,” and drew attention to the role that sports play in the education and development of young people.

“STEPS FOR OLYMPIC GOALS”

Turan also emphasized the necessity of organizing national and international sports organizations in order to achieve good results in the Olympics. Stating that Beylikdüzü Municipality provides support to young people in different sports branches, she expressed that such events will continue to increase. Stating that the festival contributes to both sports and social friendships, Turan thanked all teams that contributed to the organization.
